Delivery and Installation Overview
Modpools are delivered fully assembled and designed for efficient, straightforward installation. Offloading and placement are coordinated by the owner, with remote technical support provided by the Modpools team throughout the process.
A crane is preferred for lifting via the corner castings, though forklifts or zoom booms may be suitable depending on site conditions.
Site Preparation and Contractor Requirements
A licensed general contractor is required for all installations.
Your contractor is responsible for:
Site assessment and access planning
Permits and local code compliance
Excavation, drainage, and foundation preparation
Foundation requirements:
5 inch reinforced concrete slab, or
8 inches of compacted, level gravel
Because Modpools are fully engineered structures, they are well suited for sloped or hillside sites and can often function as part of a retaining solution, helping reduce overall site work and installation costs.
Mechanical Room Access Requirements
Every Modpool includes an integrated mechanical room that houses all filtration, heating, and electrical systems. Permanent, unobstructed access to this space is required for startup, servicing, and long term maintenance.
To ensure proper access, please plan for the following:
A minimum 4 ft clearance, is required to allow full swing of the mechanical room doors
The excavation must extend an additional 4 ft beyond the seating end of the pool to create a dedicated drop down service area
This access area should be properly finished, typically with retaining walls
Many clients choose to incorporate a hinged decking solution over the access opening, allowing the area to remain visually clean while preserving full service access.
Here are some examples: Example 1, Example 2, Example 3
Failure to maintain proper mechanical room access may limit serviceability and can result in additional costs if site modifications are required.
Utility Connections and Finishing
Once placed on the prepared foundation, your contractor will complete electrical and gas or propane connections, followed by final grading, decking, landscaping, or other site finishes as desired.
